About Us
Maple Sew Craft Jogja is a community of elderly women who enjoy making handicrafts, especially patchwork quilting. Patchwork quilting is a technique of piecing together scraps of fabric to create valuable and useful items, both for fashion and everyday needs. The works of Maple Sew Craft members can include quilts, bedspreads, wall decorations, home decorations such as pillowcases, tablecloths, and many more.
Although patchwork quilting is widely known internationally, in Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta, there are still many women who are unfamiliar with this craft. Seeing the potential and benefits of patchwork quilting, Maple wants to introduce this art to women who are interested in learning and developing themselves. We believe that this skill is not only a means of creative expression, but can also be a source of income.
Therefore, we at Maple Community are committed to marketing our products more widely, in order to reach a larger market and provide economic benefits for our members. With more active marketing, Maple members can become more financially independent, while continuing to work from home.
Maple has been actively participating in various small business activities in the city of Yogyakarta since 2019. From activities organized by the government to support small businesses in Yogyakarta, we began actively producing various patchwork quilting craft products for marketing, both through exhibitions, online stores, and collaborations with other communities and agencies.
In the future, we hope Maple can become a center for learning patchwork quilting in Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas, as well as a place for more people to create, share, and grow together through art and crafts.
